YEO Backpack Project

All children and youths deserve the right to a supported education –that begins with ensuring they are well-equipped with age-appropriate school supplies that will help them succeed through the year and encourage healthy development. When children have the proper school supplies, it helps empower their creativity, attitudes towards learning, and self-image.


The YEO Backpack Project aims to provide vital school supplies to underprivileged children and youths in communities across Nova Scotia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Together with school boards, local administrators and families, we can help identify children with the most significant disadvantages to uplift children and youths to empower them for the future.

 

Education & Outreach

Most of our efforts pertaining to this project involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements in order to make our backpack project a success.

Community Development

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our children and youths are better prepared for the classroom each year. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers the children and youths in our community to be able to deliver the support they need, when they need it.

Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change for children and youths in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Youth Empowerment Organization, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization.
